Saint Mark Youth Ministry's mission is to bring the message of Jesus Christ's love to our youth and to empower them to carry that message into the community. Their faith journey is supported through various forms of religious instruction and activities.
Saint Mark's youth serve our Lord through various roles. At Mass, they are sacristans, altar servers, lectors, and Eucharistic ministers. In other ministries they help with service-based summer youth programs, food drives, and The St. Mark Emerald Food Pantry. Our youth often prepare meals and serve the homeless at Foundation Dinners. They participate in missions for the poor by bringing in funds for Rice Bowl, Bridges of St. Mark, and St. Vincent de Paul. They affirm life by bringing in donations for Pregnancy Decision Health Center. They serve at banquets and functions where needed throughout the year. High schoolers have been active in the 5-day mission of Gospel Road or have assisted with Vacation Bible School.
All students and youth groups are welcome to participate in St. Mark community activities such as the Annual Church Picnic, All Saints Day party, caroling to shut-ins, interacting with assisted living communities, or just handling "heavy work" for some of our older parishioners.
Our goal is to prepare the youth of St. Mark's to live their lives loving and serving God and their neighbors. Many of St. Mark's youth attend Catholic Youth Summer Camp (CYSC) and participate in regularly held youth group fun nights, thus building his or her own circle of faith friends.
For all that these children learn, sacrifice, and achieve, we continue to give thanks.
