How can you teach your children what you do not know about the faith? The answer may be, "You as adults fill in your gaps about the faith through Family PSR."
St. Mark's Family PSR is taking shape! With a lot of prayer, a curriculum has been chosen! This chosen curriculum, from St. Paul in Minnesota, is a 3-year cycle of once-monthly parent lessons. Overall, the curriculum took more than 30 years to become the well-rounded, Imprimatur licensed, and USCCB approved learning platform it is. Two special notes: these monthly classes are open to all parishioners who want to know more about the faith, not just parents. And, while the words of the Lord are always central to our teaching, this course deals more with Catholic behaviors, the Catechism, and tradtions of the Church.
We are still working out most of the details. Basically, there will be regular PSR and then 8 Family sessions per year that parents/others attend. Classes will discuss ways to impart the faith to children/grandchildren, things you can do to build on an inspirational Catholic home life, and build your Catholic Social Circle.
Babysitting will be provided. See the survey in the bulletin to put in your thoughts and ideas for days, discussions, etc.
