Fisher Catholic students serving in United Way Community Care Day enabled us to complete projects we had been putting off for a long time!
We celebrated Confirmation candidates cleaning out an overgrown garden for a parishioner.
A parishioner who works as a hairdresser in Pickerington cut hair for Lancaster children at Saint Mark Church free of charge to prepare for the new school year.
Neighbor and area teens helped complete yard work and repair a home for several seniors in Lancaster.
Parishioners (approximately 60) are dedicating ten weeks of their personal time to become energized to evangelize for the Lord to spread the gospel.
Four youth from Saint Mark volunteered and worked hard for the community of Circleville at Gospel Road Saint Joseph for a week in July.
Food donations for the food bank are very generous and consistent by many parishioners and the community.
A new parishioner immediately offered to help build the handicap ramp at the new rectory.
Neighbor gave a ride to a 19-year old young man (40 miles out of town) to get a non-working used car the teen was going to fix-up for transportation to work and take to college in 6 months. They had many complications but the neighbor stayed with the teen from 6:00 pm to 1:30 am and they towed the car home.
Parishioners donated money to fellow parishioner to help with overwhelming bills.
A Junior High Student offered to shovel snow all winter for an older parishioner.
A student at Fisher Catholic offered her last year’s bowling uniform to a new team member to save her $50.00.
A caring woman, a parent of a Fisher Catholic student, quietly gave another parent $100.00 to buy a winter coat or other needs and would not take “No, I can’t accept this.” for an answer.
"No problem, I didn't take any pay in November either. I'm just worried about him. He wants to act like he is 20 years old but the other day I saw him walking all hunched over and defeated. Give me an hour. I'll take care of it." Overheard neighbor
I wish to thank my neighborhood Christian fellowship group for caring about the teens and having bible study every Monday night. I also want to thank the anonymous sponsors for paying for some of the teens to go to the Winter Jam Christian Concert in Columbus.
A gentleman heard that a woman in an assisted living facility did not have any food until her food card arrives which could be a week so he personally went to Saint Mark’s food bank to get her groceries and picked some additional things up at the grocers.
