The Eucharist is the most special sacrament, in which the Body and Blood of Christ Himself is contained, offered and received, and by which the Church constantly lives and grows. The Eucharistic sacrifice, the memorial of the death and resurrection of the Lord, in which the sacrifice of the cross is perpetuated over the centuries, is the summit, source, and center of our Catholic faith, life and worship. As children reach the age of reason, at age seven, the Church extends to them an invitation to celebrate the Sacrament of Eucharist by making their First Holy Communion; adults receiving the Eucharist for the first time generally takes place at the Easter Vigil Mass. Preparation for children is made through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program, for adults preparation is through the RCIA program. Contact the parish office for more information 740-653-1229.
